Incanto VDL (by Kannan GFE) jumped to an excellent third place in the most difficult class of the weekend with Brazilian top rider Yuri Mansur. The pair remained clear in the basic course and recorded one jumping fault in the jump-off in a time of 36.06 seconds, good for €15,825 in prize money. Incanto VDL was bred by Gebr. Lohuis and had already finished in fourth place earlier in the week.
Kilkenny (by Cardento), ridden by Max Wachman (IRL), also delivered a strong performance, finishing sixth in the same class. With one fault in the jump-off, they clocked 38.83 seconds and earned €5,803. The Cardento son was bred by Ita Brennan.
Young horse final: VDL blood catches the eye
In the final for 6- and 7-year-old horses (1.30m), several VDL offspring performed strongly:
- Nisther K (by Comthago VDL) and Maikel van der Vleuten (NED) finished in an impressive third place with two clear rounds in a time of 31.80 seconds.
- Bred by P.J.A.M. Kommers – €75
- Denver (by Douglas) and Manon Hees (NED) finished fourth, also with a double clear round (32.58 sec).
- Bred by P.J.G. Tacken – €500
- Nirocco (by Zirocco Blue VDL) with Clara Pezzoli (ITA): seventh – 33.26 sec – €200
- Odessa VDM (by Carrera VDL) and Laura Baaring Kjaergaard (DEN) rounded off the top 10 in tenth place – 34.75 sec – €125
Victory for Dakar VDL daughter at 4-level*
On 25 July, there was also success at CSI4 level*, where Prinses van het Keizershof (by Dakar VDL) and Manon Hees (NED) took the victory in a 1.40m two-phase class. With a time of 26.34 seconds, they remained clear and earned €375. Bred by Leon Otten, Dilsen-Stokkem (BEL)
