Last Sunday, the Grand Prix of Outdoor Zuidwolde took place on the grounds of C.H. de Wolden. Mindset and Hessel Hoekstra appeared at the start. With a strong basic course, the duo qualified for the jump-off with no fewer than 18 jump-off candidates. The Aganix du Seigneur son, bred by E. Schep, proved unbeatable with a time of 31.49 seconds, leaving all the competition behind. Fifth place went to the Bubalu daughter Joss D and Berber Dijkman, bred by H.K. van Doorn. Seventh place went to Larsson (by Grand Slam) and Enrico van Manen, bred by A.W.J.M. van Erp. Finally, eighth place went to Kelton VDL (by Bubalu) and Annelies Vosselmans, bred by Y. Walda & VDL Stud.
On Friday, Sambucci de Muze and Luke Hill finished second in the Championat (1.40m). With over 60 participants, the competition was fierce, but this did not prevent the only 7-year-old Sambucci de Muze and Luke from setting a tight time of 39.55 seconds. Joris de Brabander is the breeder of Sambucci de Muze. Luke also managed to remain faultless in the jump-off with Night Life, taking 5th place. Night Life is bred by VDL Stud. The third place went to Jaguar (by Corporal) and Lars Schroder, bred by W. Harke. Eighth place went to Novacific Eickenrode (by Baltic) and Filippa Ibsen, the Baltic daughter bred by van der Waaij.
VDL offspring also stood out in the young horse categories. Three Comthago offspring finished in the top 10 of the 5-year-olds:
- 2nd Pellaminka (by Comthago) with Linde Bulthuis, bred by S. de Groot
- 3rd Peanut Butter (by Comthago) with Wesley de Boer, bred by M. de Boer
- 8th Paris (by Comthago) with Lila Dijckmeester, bred by M. de Boer
- 9th Hamilton GW Eurohill Z (by Hardrock) with Geert Jan Boer, bred by C. Hendriksen & G. Weggemans
There was further success in the 4-year-old category:
- 2nd Rambo J.O. (by Arezzo) with Lila Dijckmeester, bred by J. Otten
- 3rd Robin’s Angel VDL (by Zirocco Blue) with Kim Gudmundsson, bred by R. Parsky & VDL Stud
And finally, in the 6- & 7-year-old category:
- 5th Namulandro (by Irvington) with Luigi Federico, bred by H. Vleems
- 6th Napardi VDL R.A.G. (by Inaico) with Luke Hill, bred by VDL Stud
- 8th Noble Ami (by Comthago) with Jessie Wiefferink, bred by J. Kramer
