Last weekend were the foal shows of Zuid-Holland and Noord-Brabant. In both selections, the champion ribbon went to an offspring of VDL stallions. In Zuid-Holland, the overall champion of the showjumping foals was Tommeke VDP (by Grand Slam x Indorado), bred by A. van der Poel. The Grand Slam son also earned an invitation to the National Foal Championships. The jury described the young stallion as: "a well-developed and long-lined foal. Strong in body, with a correct topline and hard foundation. He trots with allure and his canter is ample and well off the ground".
Reserve champion was the son of New Pleasure Twistmindro. "Also a well-developed and long-lined colt with a nicely shaped neck. Equipped with a good topline and loin. In canter he showed a lot of balance, power and rhythm" said the judges. Twistmindro (by New pleasure x Indoctro) is bred by L.H. Bardelmeijer.
At the foal show in Noord-Brabant, the Zirocco Blue son Treasure T became champion of the colts. Commenting, "This is a very appealing colt, with good length in his body and good development. He has a nice forehand and moves light-footed, with good suppleness in canter." he also received an invitation to the National Foal Championships. Treasure T is bred by A.L.M. Timmers out of an Indoctro mare.
