Last Thursday, the KWPN National Championships for mares and foals took place in Ermelo. In the champion ring of jumping, the bloodlines of the VDL stallions were strongly represented. In the championship ring of the jumpingbred foals were 6 of the 11 finalists were offspring of VDL stallions.
Thus, the Zirocco Blue daughter Tiabanda VDL placed 3rd. Tiabanda VDL descends from the well-known mare Banda de Hus (1.60m), she is dam of, among others, Brooklyn de Hus (1.50m), Bangalore de Hus (1.50m), Colisee de Hus 1.50m) and many other successful offspring. 5th place went to the very appealing Ticella VDL a daughter of Baltic. Her dam Cella herself jumped at 1.60m level. Other successful offspring from Cella's dam's line are Mufasa (1.60m) and Harkito van den Berg (1.60m). They are out of Cella's dam Usha van 't Roosakker, who herself jumped at 1.50m level with Marlon Modolo Zanotelli. 6th place went to Tommeke VDP a son of Grand Slam. Tommeke VDP who already became champion of Zuid-Holland is bred by A. van der Poel-de Groot and is out of the Elite Sport Indorado daughter Ciske VDP. 7th place went to the D. Noordhuis-bred Night Life son Thunderstruck DN. He was already reserve champion in Exloo. In 8th place was Tunita (by Baltic x Corland). The Baltic daughter is bred by J.W. van Wessel and was reserve champion at the Horse Breeding Day Veluwe & Vallei. That day's champion was 10th, Tunanita (by Carrera). With no fewer than two showjumping foals in the final of the National Championships, a breeder can be very satisfied.
