Blankonette III |
The genes of both Cornet Obolensky and Argentinus never go out of fashion, making the newly KWPN approved Portorico a very interesting acquisition. In addition, the complete Portorico is bred out of the famous mare Banda de Hus – who was successful herself at 1.60m level with Gregory Wathelet and Kevin Staut. Cornet Obolensky is one of the best sires of the past decade and passes on quality, technique and athletic ability. Cornado NRW, Comme Il Faut, Clooney, Cornetto K - these are just a few examples of Cornet Obolensky's outstanding progeny.
In turn, grandsire Argentinus is one of the foundation sires of Hanoverian breeding and, certainly in the damline, is still extremely valuable.
Portorico's dam Banda de Hus obtained an impressive record at CSI5* level under both the Belgian and French flag and has also had her first successes in breeding. Offspring such as Farouk de Hus Z, Eiffel de Hus, Et Toc de Hus, Colisee de Hus and Uranhus all jump at international Grand Prix level. Her grandchildren are also doing well; for example, her daughter France de Hus produced top international jumpers such as Brooklyn de Hus, Elixer de Hus and Gregory Wathelet's very promising Flagship de Hus. Granddam Blankonette is not only dam of the famous Banda de Hus, but also of Ludger Beerbaum's highly successful jumper Cool Down, of Alison Robitaille-Firestone's Lima and of top talent Far West de Hus.
