Kaiser des Forets VDL is a son of the German top progenitor Contendro I out of one of the most prominent French dam lines. Sire Contendro I is a direct son of the foundation stallion Contender and proved to be of great importance in breeding. It is not without reason that Contendro I is in a beautiful nineteenth place on the WBFSH Sire Ranking 2017, thanks to offspring such as Conthendrix (Andre Thieme), Codex One (Christian Ahlmann) and Hello Annie (Scott Brash. Kaiser des Forets VDL was then bred from a daughter of the legendary Selle Français stallion Le Tot de Semilly, who is known as the sire of Diamant de Semilly and the world-famous Itot du Chateau, among others, and the foundation sires Papillon Rouge, Uriel, Ibrahim and Ultimate xx complete the pedigree.

As the suffix "des Forets" suggests, Kaiser des Forets VDL comes from the most successful French families, just like Zirocco Blue. Dam Lavande des Forets also produced the well-known Grand Prix show jumper Ulysse des Forets ridden by Swiss top rider Steve Guerdat. Lavande is also the dam of international show jumpers such as Unanime des Forets (Louis Bouhana), Tchao des Forets (Camille Tronnet) and Vent des Forets (Abdelkrim Hadji). Grandam Grace des Forets produced the international show jumper Quapitole des Forets (Frederic Bouvard) and the Selle Français stallion Un Diamant des Forets, who is successful under Canadian Jim Ifko. Great-grandam May Flower III formed the basis of many approved stallions and international show jumpers, including of course Zirocco Blue (Jur Vrieling), Nicos de la Cense (Niall Talbot) and Stew Boy.

Kaiser des Forets VDL successfully completed the KWPN spring test and thus earned its breeding license. He was entered with a nice score of 77 points (7.5 canter, 7.5 reflexes, 7.5 technique, 8 power, 8.5 rideability, 8 attitude, 7.5 talent as a jumper)
