Vechta’s extended pedigree carries 3 crosses to influential TB stallions Lucky Boy, Cottage Son and Furioso Heisman, Faust Z and Maximillian Voltucky, Champion young stallion at the SHB (GB) stallion grading.\r\n\r\nBilly Congo is by the AES & Irish Horse Board Approved stallion Vechta, who himself is by the famous sire Voltaire.
Vechta was a talented show jumper being placed in numerous Grand Prix, including the Hickstead Derby, and was regularly selected for the British Nations Cup Teams including Rome and Aachen, ridden by William Funnell. He is also the sire of Billy Landretti now competing at CCI*** level with Pippa Funnell.
Billy Autumn the dam of Billy Congo was bred at The Billy Stud. A talented show jumper, placed third at the Horse of the Year Show in the Foxhunter Final and winning numerous Young Horse classes, ridden by both William and Pippa Funnell, before being sold as an 8 year old to Canada, where she has won and been placed in many Grand Prix classes.
Billy Autumn’s sire Animo is among the elite jumping stallions in the world today and the Grandfather Clover Hill is a fantastic sire of many international winners.

Billy Onslow is now a 12yr old and has gone from strength to strength. In 2013 he was double clear in a 1.40m jump off class at the Royal Windsor horse show, he was 3rd in the 7yr old final in Maubage, and jumped clear rounds in the 1.45m classes at the CSI5* show at Hickstead, a big test for a 7yr old. He was sold to International showjumper Darragh Kenny in March 2017 and is now completing and winning at 1.50m level.
Billy Olive now ridden by Samantha Cohen (USA) has had huge success at 3* 1.40m level. As a young horse she had many results including winning the 7 year old 3* class in Vejer de la Frontera whilst competing on the Sunshine Tour and has progressed up the grades quickly.
Billy Fanta has been extremely consistent throughout her national and International career, her records speak for themselves; many double clears and placings in Newcomers as a 5 year old and Foxhunter classes as a 6 year old. She continued to shine as she stepped up into her 7 year old career – winning the 1.40 ranking class in Mijas, 2nd in the Young Breeding Horse Championship final in the main ring at Hickstead RIHS, 4th in the 1.40m Grand prix at Pyecombe, 2nd in the The All England Grand Prix at Hickstead and 5th in the Area trial at Henley. She has since won and been placed at many 5* shows and is well within William’s top string of horses.
Billy Cool has had much success throughout her career so far being placed in many classes nationally and internationally as a young horse.
She has numerous wins at 1.30m / 1.40m level and has had recent success with Chloe Winchester – placing 4th in the World Class Development Programme – Under 23 Championship at Aintree in October 17 and jumping many successful Grand Prix classes at CSI2* – Oliva, Valencia in November.
In December 17 she jumped a superb round to finish second – one of only 2 double clears in the competition in the Under 23 Championship final at Olympia.
Billy Chatter the Winner of the British 6yr old Championship, placings in numerous 7 year old classes and hugely successful on the Sunshine tour circuit as a 6 and 7 year old in the 1.30 classes. She stepped up to 1.40m classes as an 8 year old with placings in Wierden and Hagen.
Billy Cointreau the 8 year old AES approved stallion out of the dam Orange Juice, another International performer, with William Funnell won the Five Year Old Chmapionship at Hickstead and came 7th in the 5 Year Old British Bred Championship Final at Addington.
The ride was then passed on to Julie Andrews after he was bought by Emelie Marsh in 2017. As quoted in the Horse and Hound “I was sitting watching with Emelie and when he came into the ring I remarked on what a beautiful horse he was. By the end of the round, we both wanted him,” said Julie. “William Funnell wanted him to stay in Britain and he’s given me so much advice. This horse has got everything. He already has foals on the ground, but his manners are impeccable because he’s been produced so well. He has a brain, the stride and the jump. I think he’s as good as they get.” He now has 7 foals on the ground all looking to be exciting prospects for the future.
Billy Zingo a full brother to Billy Cointreau came 3rd in the 6 Year Old British Bred Final at Addington and has since had many winnings in Valencia. In one month he won three 1.25m classes whilst competing on the sunshine tour as a 6 year old. Now a 7 year old, he is an extremely exciting Grand prix prospect.
Billy Buckingham as a 9 year old was selected as part of the squad to represent Great Britain in the Nations cup on two occasions, for the first time in Uggerhalne, Denmark where he jumped a fantastic double clear for the team as his Nation’s cup debut and then again in Dublin.
He has won the Eindhoven Derby – his first ever derby class and then went on to come 6th in the Famous Al’Shiraa Hickstead Derby (1.60m) not touching a single pole but with a hugely unlucky step back on the bank costing him from joining the jump-off and a potential win.
Billy Um Bongo In 2011 he was the joint winner of the Four Year Old Championships at Addington. The following year at Addington he jumped clear everyday to pick up the bonus for the British bred 5yr olds. In 2014 Billy Umbongo went on his first sunshine tour to Spain and jumped numerous clear rounds in the 7yr old classes.
Billy Blue Bell Won both the 1.35m 2* classes at the Longines Global Champions Tour in Valkenswaard. Many other wins at 2 & 3*level including 1.40m GP in Sommersted, 1.45m in Drammen, 2x 1.35m Zurich and 1.40 Vestfold.
Billy Liffy 4* eventer who has had great success with Olivia Craddock, including Team silver Strzegom Nations Cup, 1st Caooiquin CCI3*, 6th Bramham CCI3* Under 25’s,7th Burnham Market CCI3*. He had a Dressage score of 45.5 to land in the Top 10 after day 1 of their first 4* at Burghley 2017 and jumped a fantastic clear XC Blenhiem 2017. He has recently been sold to Claudia and Jonathan Rothermere to compete under 4* event rider Sam Griffiths.
Billy Cuckoo, Consistent 3* eventer, her career started well with Pippa Funnell, finishing 2nd in her first CCI 1*. She then went onto finish in the top 3 at the following 2* competitions; Osberton, Houghton Hall, Hartpury & Ardingly.
Billy Bandit Eventing successfully at 3* level with Flora Harris. Results include; 1st Ballindenisk 2*, 2nd Belton 2*, 2nd Burgham 2*, 2nd Tweseldown & 7th Barbury 2*.
