ERMELO – Last Friday, the National Foal Championship took place in Ermelo. VDL stallions were well represented at the championships of the jumping bred foals. Five of the eleven foals are offspring of VDL stallions.
Vareina VDL (Boston VDL x Arezzo) took third place. This Boston offspring was described as: ‘An appealing, well-built foal with a good canter’. Vareina VDL was the champion at the Central Foal Inspection Friesland in Harich.
Fifth place went to Viewpoint J.D. (Mindset x Zirocco), bred by J. Dikkema JR. from Scharmer. Sixth place went to Vicky Banda VDL (Baltic x Argentinus), and eighth place went to Votra Banda VDL (Baltic x Argentinus). Both are offspring from the well-known mare Banda de Hus, who not only competed at the highest level herself, but also has several offspring competing at 1.50m level. Eleventh place went to Vowyrusa H (Etoulon VDL x Baltic), bred by A.J. Hazenberg from Opende.
