Offspring of VDL stallions performed strongly in the prestigious 1.60m Grand Prix of Hickstead and finished in the top 10. The highest placed with a 5th place was Ilex (Baltic VDL x Chin Chin, breeder G. Maris) ridden by Fabio Leivas da Costa. Homebred Gisborne VDL (Zirocco Blue out of Alpenroos VDL v. Goodtimes) finished in a nice 7th place with Daniel Coyle. Iglesias D.V. (Quasimodo van de Molendreef x Indorado, breeder: R. de Vries) finished 8th, ridden by Olivier Robert. G Camille HBF (Zirocco Blue x Cassini I, breeder: Drumpark Farm) finished in 9th place with rider Karl Robins.
There were also remarkable results for King Lepantino (Arezzo x Lord Z) in Hickstead. The 8-year-old gelding won the final of the 8-year-olds with Matthew Sampson and also placed 2nd and 6th in the 8-yrs old classes. King Lepantino was bred by E. Derda.
