VDL offspring dominate on world stages

Last weekend several international showjumping competitions were on the programme, and once again VDL offspring showed their best side. With wins in Italy, Germany, Portugal, Belgium and the United States, among others, VDL offspring proved their worldwide class.

Bedizzole (ITA) - CSI3*
On 15 June, Slovenian rider Tomaž Tabernik won the class for six-year-old horses (1.25m) with Odisse DD (by Pommerol de Muze), bred by G.E.J. Snel. A day earlier, Italy's Luca Maria Moneta won the Grand Tour (1.45m) with El Capone RK (by Cardento), bred by Raymond Knoops.

Elmshorn (GER) - CSN
In Germany, the win in the five-year-old stallions went to Brilliant Nessaja (by Brantzau VDL) under Jesse Luther. The Holstein stallion was bred by Johanna Wagner and received a handsome reward of €1,500.

Matosinhos (POR) - CSI2*
Loredo VDL (by Cardento) managed to win the Grand Prix (1.45m) with Portuguese António Matos Almeida. His clear round in 37.56 seconds earned him €7,050. The Cardento son was bred by the VDL Stud.

Hagen a. T. W. (GER) - CSIOCh
At the youth competition in Hagen, Charlie Barker (GBR) won the Nations Cup for Children with Strides Maureen (by Indoctro). Wendy Clements is the breeder of the Indoctro daughter.  Melina Savvidis (GER) was the best in the individual 1.30m class with Zeus 191 (by Zirocco Blue VDL). The Zirocco Blue son was bred by Heike Hegmann-Lange.

Lichtenvoorde (NED) - CSI3*
Lars Schröder won the 1.40m class on home soil with W. Harke-bred Jaguar (by Corporal VDL). In the small tour there was also success for Maikel van der Vleuten with Branttastisch HDH (by Brantzau VDL). The Brantzau son was bred by Edgar Langen. Other winners in Lichtenvoorde included Ellinor Liwing (SWE) with Cikoria SA (by Comfortuna) bred by Stall Axelsson and Nienke van Roekel with Dotte Z (by Dallas) bred by Comb. Hofman & van Gelder. 

Opglabbeek (BEL) - CSI4*
Dutch rider Sanne Thijssen was fastest in the 1.35m class with Iron Dames Keiralanda VDM (by Douglas). The Douglas daughter was bred by Heechhiem BV. The young horse competition (6-year-olds) was won by Alexandre Travia Faustino (POR) with Onesto Colado O (by Baltic VDL), bred by J.A. Ooms. 

Roeser (LUX) - CSI1*
In Luxembourg, the 1.50m class was won by Kavaliers Blue (by Zirocco Blue VDL) with Viktor Daem (BEL), a Zirocco Blue son bred by P.M.M. van Liere from Weert. A fine performance with a reward of €7,050.

Lexington, KY (USA) - CSI2*
The national anthem also sounded in the United States thanks to Molly Ashe Cawley with La Rosso Lady SDH (by Harley VDL). The duo won the 1.45m class in 37.23 seconds and earned $8,000. The Harley daughter was bred by Mark Oude Griep.
With victories in all corners of the world, VDL offspring are showing very strong performances in the world top of showjumping. Both young talents and experienced toppers underline the quality.
