Our stallions Comthago VDL, New Pleasure and Stargos VDL delivered strong performances at Outdoor Gelderland last weekend. Under the saddle of Hessel Hoekstra, rider for Stal Wiefferink, they achieved excellent results in both Grand Prix classes and qualifying competitions.

In the weekend’s feature class, the CSI3* Grand Prix over 1.55m, Comthago VDL once again demonstrated his exceptional quality. With two faultless rounds, Hessel Hoekstra guided the Comme Il Faut son to an outstanding third-place finish in this prestigious main event.

New Pleasure continued his impressive form by winning the CSI1* Grand Prix over 1.40m. The stallion secured victory with a clear jump-off round in the fastest time of 36.26 seconds. Earlier in the week, New Pleasure had already finished second in a 1.30m class.

Stargos VDL also showed excellent form throughout the show. The Stakkato Gold son finished third in the 1.45m qualifier and later added a strong seventh-place finish in the 1.50m class.

The offspring of VDL stallions also performed remarkably well. Oilily MF (by Impressive VDL) won a 1.35m qualifier under Berber Dijkman. In the 1.45m Medium Tour, Nelson Pessoa (by Harley VDL) and Daan van Geel secured an excellent second place, while Jucatan VDL (by Carrera VDL), ridden by Evi Wiefferink, finished fifth.
