Carrera's son Mister Jup wins the Grand Prix at 1.60m level

The VDL stallions made a strong impression in the 4* Grand Prix over 1.60m. With no fewer than two offspring of Carrera VDL in the top 10, including the winner, the VDL bloodline once again proved its class at the highest international level.

Victory went to Mister Jup, the KWPN horse by Carrera bred by G.L. Hoksbergen. Riden by the Brazilian rider Yuri Mansur, he remained clear and fast in both the first round and the jump-off, resulting in a convincing victory in this ranking class.

Charming Dream Z, also a son of Carrera, jumped his way to a top 10 finish with Irish rider Niall Talbot, thereby confirming the consistent performances of this successful sire. He was bred by L.H.M. Sneijers.

In addition, offspring of other VDL stallions were also excellently represented. Hulahupe JR, a son of Bubalu, finished in a creditable sixth place with British rider Joe Whitaker. Hulahupe JR was bred by J. Reitsma. Kardesh, bred from Etoulon by L.A.M. Droste, added an eighth-place finish under Zain Shady Samir.

In the young horses class, Arezzerole VG Z (by Arezzo) scored a hat-trick. The Arezzo son, bred by A. Vangeebergen-Thoelen, managed to win on all three days with Giel Vangeebergen in the saddle.

With a victory and four top-10 placings in the Grand Prix, plus a hat-trick in the young horse class, the VDL stallions have once again demonstrated their significant influence in international show jumping at the highest level.
