Jur Vrieling and VDL Bubalu opened the Olympic jumping in Greenwich Park. Bubalu was jumping with lots of scope and he made a very nice round with no faults. The comment of Jur Vrieling: " I thought it was special to be the first starter of the Olympic Showjumping. On the other hand I was disappointed there also a bit of being the first to ride in, but fortunately took it all very well".

Coach Rob Ehrens gave a short characteristic of the stallion: "Bubalu is very explosive , that needs to be ridden with in a high tempo. In Galop he sometimes crosses over in a turn, but Jur is now used to this so this is no problem anymore for the combination.

The coach also saw two agreements between Bubalu and the other three horses starting for the Netherlands. "They all have a great character and they like to jump!

Due to the excellent performance of the Dutch team - all four riders jumped clear- Netherlands goes tomorrow in the first round of the Nation as the twelfth country to start.
In this Nations competition all countries start at the same points .
