During the magnificent Indoor Friesland in Leeuwarden, both our own stallions and the offspring of VDL stallions once again showed their best side. With multiple victories and top rankings, it was another very successful show for VDL Stud.
Our approved stallion Comthago VDL (Comme Il Faut x Carthago) made a strong comeback in the sport after a busy breeding season. With Hessel Hoekstra, he jumped fantastically in the 1.55m SLTN Grand Prix and finished in a respectable 7th place. Comthago VDL is bred by W. Kochs.
Other offspring of VDL stallions also performed excellently in this Grand Prix:
- 6th – Jesther (Cardento x Guidam), bred by G.J.A. Moerings (Roosendaal, NED), ridden by Maikel van der Vleuten
- 9th – Gangster WW (Grand Slam VDL x Kannan), bred by Wilhelm Winkeler (GER), ridden by Luke Dee (NZL)
- 12th – Larsson (Grand Slam VDL x Arthos), bred by A.W.J.M. van Erp (NED), ridden by Enrico van Manen
Our stallions also performed convincingly in the other classes:
Mattias (Comme il Faut x Catoki) and Jur Vrieling jumped with great power and were placed twice: 7th and 10th in the 1.45m classes. H. Nijborg is the breeder of Mattias VDL.
Mindset (Aganix du Seigneur x Kannan) once again demonstrated his quality and attitude under Hessel Hoekstra with an 8th place in the 1.45m Medium Tour Final. Mindset is bred by E. Schep.
Neymar VDL (Thunder van de Zuuthoeve x Darco) and Sytze van Dellen performed strongly with a 3rd place in the 1.40m Grand Prix, as well as a 4th and 9th place in the 1.35m classes. Neymar is bred by VDL Stud.
Night Life VDL (Erco van 't Roosakker x Arezzo VDL) jumped two clear rounds under Luke Hill and finished 11th in the 1.40m Grand Prix. Night Life is also a breeding product of VDL Stud.
In addition to the performances of our own stallions, there were also several victories in Leeuwarden for offspring of VDL stallions:

- Lehman (Baltic VDL x Numero Uno) – 1st 1.40m, ridden by Enrico van Manen (NED), bred by A. Schouten (NED)
- Wadro’s Maggie May (Zirocco Blue VDL x Amaretto I) – 1st 1.45m, ridden by Marriet Smit-Hoekstra (NED), bred by J. Vrieling (NED)
- Prinses van het Keizershof (Dakar VDL x For Pleasure) – 1st 1.45m, ridden by Manon Hees (NED), bred by Leon Otten (BEL)
