After winning the stallioncompetition of the M-class, there was also a great succes for the VDL Stud in the Z-class: VDL Sarantos was winner of the final round, VDL Empire became 2nd and at the 3rd place was VDL Silverstone.

VDL Sarantos (Emilion x Larome) was with rider Gert Jan Bruggink also winner of the 2nd round of the stallioncompetition at Zuidbroek, with winning this final round he became the winner of the KWPN Stallioncompetition. Sarantos is owned by the VDL Stud together with Stoeterij Gaesbeek and mr. W. Bourgondien. A 2nd place was there for the other Emilion-son VDL Empire and his rider Robert Vos, with this result he was also 2nd in the total competition. Dennis van Tilburg was riding VDL Silverstone (Champion du Lys x Carthago), he became 3rd and 4th in the final competition.
