Kordon is a product out of the first crop of the promising stallion Glenfiddich VDL and therewith he is his first KWPN-approved son. Glenfiddich VDL is the only KWPN-approved son of Bacardi VDL, who is one of world’s best and most successful showjumpers with Janika Sprunger. Glenfiddich VDL himself shows off extreme power and push from the floor and comes from a strong damline, which has produced the world-famous sire Papillon Rouge. The oldest offspring of Glenfiddich VDL seem to have a lot of strength and jumping ability, but are also light-footed and balanced. Kordon  was bred out of a dam by the thoroughbred Kreator xx. Further on, Kordon’s pedigree goes back to the Burggraaf-son Orion Fortuna and the top sires Voltaire and Nimmerdor.
 
Kordon  was bred out of the famous Fortuna-breeding of the Rinkes-Tjeenk Willink family from Pesse, Drenthe. Dam Anoulavsca Fortuna previously produced Brighton Bay (ex: Fulltime Fortuna), who has been highly successful under the saddle of Emma Augier de Moussac. As a 6- and 7-year-old, Brighton Bay was among the most winning showjumpers in Europe and continued his career up to 1.50m-level. Granddam Vorione Fortuna also performed successfully in the international sport; ridden by USA’s Trapp O'Neal, Vorione Fortuna jumped at Grand Prix level. Great-granddam Mhilavsca Fortuna brought a large number of successful children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, such as Bull Run’s Divine Fortune (Kristen Vanderveen), Fascinating Fortuna (Patrick Lemmen), the KWPN stallion Entertainer (Michel Hendrix) and Zellobee (Chris Sorensen & Maureen Bonder).
