Imothep has an outstanding pedigree with great sires. Father Indoctro is ranked 12th in the WBFSH Ranking of Show Jumping Sires. Five of his offspring jumped in the World Equestrian Games in Caen. Calvados jumped at Grand Prix level and sired the top athletes Royal Future and Harmonie.\r\nDominard was a Grand Prix competitor. Maykel is both the sire of Jos Lansink’s former top international horse Felix, and the approved stallion and international jumper, Cavalier. Rigoletto was and continues to be a legend as a jumper and jumper sire. Any horse carrying Rigoletto genes is a talented jumper.
Granddam Diemena H carries the ‘Keur’ predicate plus foaled a 1.30m jumper and the international CCI4* eventing horse, Double Dutch. Great-granddam is a ‘Prestatie’ mare having produced a 1.30m, a 1.35m and a national show jumper. Also the 4th dam, the daughter of Rigoletto, is awarded ‘Prestatie’.
Thanks to his amazing performances Imothep is chosen to be Ambassador of the BWP Studbook and achieved the predicate ‘Elite’. With Darragh Kenny, Imothep was enormously successful at the highest level and was the great surprise of the WEG in Caen. He jumped to an individual 12th place and was 7th with the Irish team. Imothep jumped fantastically in several Nations Cups (Hickstead 0-0, Aachen 4-1, Dublin 4-0). Additionally he placed as follows: 2nd World Cup of Thermal, 3rd HITS Grand Prix, 4th 1.50m of Spruce Meadows, 5th SmartPak Grand Prix, 7th Ocala Grand Prix, 8th Great American Grand Prix, 10th Spruce Meadows Grand Prix, 7th World Cup Grand Prix Del Mar etc.
In 2015, Japan’s Taizo Sugitani took over the reins of Imothep. With his new rider, Imothep is being prepared to compete at the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro in 2016.
