Zavall is sired by Casall who is currently very successful at Grand Prix level with Rolf Goran Bengtsson. Grandsire is the ‘Keur’ stallion Emilion, a World Cup winner himself and producer of winners at the Grand Prix level such as Tomboy, Seldana, Ukinda, VDL Emmerton and many more. Next in the pedigree line come two stallions that anchor most jumper breeding, Cor de la Bryere and Alme. They produced such famous names as: Caletto I and II, Corrado, Corland, Jalisco and Galoubet.
Zavall’s mother line is a proven Hanoverian line, which brought the Grand Prix winner and approved stallion Orame as well as the international jumpers Dorena II, Haleska, Mr.Itt and Zetor.
Zavall’s half-brother Merlin was Champion of the 5-yr. old horses in the USA’s East Coast League and he is now competing at Grand Prix level. Zavall’s dam is the ‘Elite and Prestatie’ mare Remilia, who performed well for her IBOP. She is a daughter of the ‘Keur’ mare Evita.
Zavall scored well in the 70 day Stallion Testing for both his jumping and his gaits. Special remarks were made on his elasticity, good technique and very good reflexes.
In sport Zavall is having fantastic results. He qualified with two clear rounds for the finals of the World Jumping Championship for 6 year olds. With his great willing character, technique and fast reflexes Zavall won the Stallion Competitions in Hengelo and Roosendaal becoming the overall Champion of the Stallion Competition at 1.30m in Den Bosch with rider Jur Vrieling in Den Bosch. The first international results are here. At the CSI Wiener Neustadt Zavall put in 2 clear rounds for 8th in a 1.30m and 7th in a 1.40m class. At the CSI Zuidbroek he was 8th in a 1.35m and 9th in a 1.30m class.
The first offspring of Zavall are very promising. He received a good foal report and daughter Darlinde DN was Reserve Champion of the jumper bred foals at the National Foal Championship and as a 3 yr. old she was Champion of the provincial mare show of Drenthe. Zavall’s first 3 yr. olds show fast reflexes and a nice technique in their jumping. At the mare shows two daughters received 80 points and two daughters received 85 points, respectively, for their free jumping. One of these is Di Zigeunerin VDL, with a top score of 87 points for her IBOP and a 3rd placing in the National Championship. She is currently one of Holland’s best 3 year olds.
