The sire of Zuidenwind is OO Seven from a Doruto daughter who was the full sister of Olympic Barbria, winner of the Silver team medal at the Olympic Games in Atlanta. His grand sire, Jazz, is the continued leader of the WBFSH ranking list for Dressage Stallions.
Zuidenwind’s dam line contributed many good horses that are very successful in the sport and breeding. His mother, Serendy, is ‘Elite’ and her full sister, Orendy, is dam of Zhivago and also the full sister of the Dutch Champion mare Andy. Grand dam is the famous mare Endy whose father Ulft and grandfather Amor are the originators of many top dressage horses. Endy is the dam of the Grand Prix dressage horse, Karmijn.
At his Stallion Test Zuidenwind was given an 8 for walk and a 9 for trot and canter with a total score of 85.5 points. He was the Dutch Champion of the 4 year old dressage horses in 2008. From both test riders he got a 9.5. Zuidenwind was 2nd in the Swedish Championships for 7-year old dressage horses. A year earlier he was 4th in the Championship for 6-year olds. Zuidenwind shows talent for the higher dressage classes and has already performed in a Prix St. George.
His first foals look good, move uphill and have much elasticity in their movements with power in the hindquarters.
