Bubalu’s sire, Baloubet du Rouet, was 2004 Olympic Champion in Athens in addition to being a three-time World Cup Champion. His offspring are finding their own successes at the Grand Prix level.
Dam of Bubalu is the Nimmerdor-daughter Zancara ‘Keur, Preferent, Prestatie’. Zancara is also the dam of the approved stallion Great Pleasure and the Grand Prix jumpers and approved stallions Pessoa and Montreal. Maternal grandmother is a VDL foundation mare - the ‘Keur, Preferent, Prestatie’ mare Shoraya. Her progeny include: Aldato - an approved stallion and Grand Prix jumper; Dehlia - a 1.50m. jumper, National Champion ‘Keur’ mare and dam of Grand Prix jumper Quality Boy; Colette - ‘Keur, Preferent’ and dam of Edminton - winner of the Grand Prix of Leeuwarden; Wildroos -‘Keur, Preferent, Prestatie’, National Champion and dam of the Grand Prix horses Deka and Ishan, and 1.40m level jumper Oraya. This Holsteiner family line is number 474a and is also in the pedigree of the stallions Calato, Azteca, Crespo, etc.
Bubalu started his career with the Colombian rider Ricardo Villa taking the National Championship of Columbia, earning 4th at the GP Kentucky, and 5th at the GP Saugerties. Under Jur Vrieling, Bubalu belongs to the top of the Dutch jumpers. In Mierlo Bubalu was in contention in the race for the Dutch Championship. He jumped very well and ended in 5th place in the final rankings. As a Dutch team horse, Bubalu contributed to top rankings and placed in several Grand Prix. He also participated at the World Equestrian Games in Kentucky 2010.
Bubalu meets the PROK criteria and the performance requirements of the KWPN.
