The Stallion test Champion Baltic VDL is a descendant of Quidam de Revel’s son Quaprice. Quaprice was a very talented international jumping stallion who died much too early. Then there is the stallion Jus de Pomme, who won double gold at the Atlanta Olympics and brought a lot of Grand Prix horses. The line goes on with the proved sires Wellington, Orthos, Joost en Rigoletto.
Baltic’s mother, ‘star’ mare Nellandra is also mother of Vegas VDL and she is a full sister of the Grand Prix horse Mellandra.
At the stallion grading in Den Bosch Baltic was placed 4th in the Champions grading. During the stallion test he impressed with his strong and athletic canter. He became convincing Champion of the stallion test with very good grades. He scored a 9 for reflexes, scope and for his talent as a jumping horse.
As 4-year old Baltic was the most striking jumper in the stallion competition, receiving positive comments at each go. He won the competitions in Hengelo, Zuidbroek and Deurne and placed 2nd in Roosendaal. In the stallion competition for 5-year olds Baltic was also very successful, as an example placing 4th in Zuidbroek. In all rounds Baltic impressed with his scope, good techniques and great reflexes.
Baltic seems to be a sire who gives a lot of blood and elegance to his foals. He breeds beautiful long legged foals with expression. They show an easy going and light footed canter.
At the inspections Baltic offspring made their mark. In the finals of the National Foals Championship two of his offspring competed: Guiness placed 6th and Gjaltic L placed 10th. Grand Charmeur VDE became Champion at the CK Zuid Holland and Galdo became Champion at the Young Foal Inspections in Tolbert. Gummareas VDL placed 4th at the CK Friesland. In Belgium Lonka A placed 3rd at the National Championship of the BWP for Elite Foals.
