Hampshire, 2017 S. Kommers

Hampshire is the first KWPN-approved son of our foundation-line sire, Arezzo. Ridden by both Jessica Kürten and Jur Vrieling, Arezzo, son of Chin Chin, had many international victories. Arezzo combines successfully the genes of sires Chin Chin and Heartbreaker, with his offspring continuing to impress in sport and at the mare and stallion shows. Hampshire’s grand sire and great-grand sire Indoctro and Nimmerdor require no introduction. Both stallions are true foundation sires for the international breeding of show jumpers. The same accolades go to Notaris, who is still to be found in the lineage of many top horses. The valuable Le Val Blanc xx adds the necessary thoroughbred genes.

Hampshire is bred out of a true performance dam line, which created many international horses. For instance, dam Rilexy ‘Keur, Preferent and Prestatie’ foaled the Chin Chin-daughter, Amadora, who jumped at 1.60m level with Beezie Madden and still is successful at international level. Under Beezie, Amadora won a prestigious 1.50m class at Spruce Meadows in Calgary. Rilexy herself was invited to the National Mare Show of the KWPN scoring 80.5 points in the performance test (IBOP) with a 9 for jumping ability and an 8.5, each, for talent and take-off.

Palmares

Hampshire was a true eye-catcher at the KWPN Stallion Show in Den Bosch finishing 3rd in the Champions’ Ring but was the clear favorite of the crowd via their loud applause. His terrific reflexes and technique stood out in the KWPN Performance Test giving him the Approved status with 81.5 points. For reflexes, rideability, and attitude Hampshire earned outstanding scores of 8.5 each.

Hampshire is a complete stallion with three good gaits and a good attitude. He jumps with a lot of scope and his take-off is careful. In the stallion competition of the 4 years olds Hampshire finished in 5th place. As a 5 year old he finished 4th in the competition at de Peelbergen. Now as a 6 year old stallion Hampshire is ready to compete at 1.30m level.

Offspring

The first offspring are well developed showing blood and presence. The foals gallop with plenty of scope, mechanics, flexibility and balance. Maverick VDJ became Champion at the CK Zuid-Holland and Montserrat CJE placed 3rd at the foal show of Harich.
