Some stallions have became true legends and maybe we can call them the founders of the VDL Stud:
Farn x KoridonThe Preferent stallion Nimmerdor is the founder from the VDL Stud. After an international career as a jumphorse, Nimmerdor got a big influence on the national and international breeding.\r\nHe still has a great influence with his 18 KWPN approved sons, as there are Ahorn, Wellington, Goodtimes, Heartbreaker; and his 39 approved KWPN grandsons, as there are Emilion, Farrington, Glennridge, Kalusha, Londontimes, Matterhorn, Ohorn, Pacific, Radisson and Sydney. Across the whole world Nimmerdor has more than 40 approved stallions. Next to it Nimmerdor brought many national and international jumping horses.\r\nThanks to his performance and the performances of his offspring Nimmerdor became the predicate “Preferent”. As a reward to his enormous work he was honoured “stallion of the century” in the year 2000.\r\nIn march 1999 Nimmerdor stopped breeding to enjoy his retirement. On 25 april 2003 Nimmerdor deceased, he became 31 years.\r\n
Primo des Bruyeres x Garitchou
The only stallion in history who won double Olympic Gold!
At the Olympic games in Atlanta 1996, Jus de Pomme got the gold medal individual en with the German team. Onfortunaly Jus de Pomme passed away short after this great result and we couldn’t enjoy anymore of his great technique and his fantastic scope.
Beside the Olympic Gold Jus de Pomme was also champion of Germany and he won the Grand Prix of Hickstead. Also an incredible prestation was the fact that Jus de Pomme made clear rounds in a row of 23 Grand Prix.
Nimmerdor x LadykillerThe Preferent stallion Ahorn passed away much to early while he was one of the top producers of sporthorses both in Holland and abroad.\r\nApproved in almost every studbook, he produced mare show champions like Haciende (Dutch Champion), Helena (European Champion), and Korenbloem (Reserve European Champion).\r\n\r\nHe also produced many international level jumpers such as Ursula XIII, Jeremy, Icamorka, Dublin, Iron, Ivor, V&L Channel, Ihorn, Gambit, Australia 2000, High Valley Z, Eurocommerce Geneve, High Five, Feizal, etc. These sporthorses will keep the name of Ahorn at the top of the lists in the future, but so will his approved sons Hattrick, Matterhorn and Ohorn.\r\nAHORN , this preferent stallion is the sire of many International show jumpers, keur - and champion mares as well as approved stallions. His influence in breeding and in the sport is growing every day\r\n
